Bharat Electronics Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saab, Sweden, for jointly marketing the L-Band 3D Air Surveillance Radar, RAWL-03. The radar is jointly manufactured by BEL and SAAB. The L band radar is a cost-effective L Band three dimensional radar used for long range air surveillance. It will help in early detection and tracking of air and surface targets, thereby, enabling engagement of fire control systems to neutralize the same. The radar can be deployed both in ship as well as in land based configurations.
