Indian boilers industry has the capability to manufacture boilers with super critical parameters upto 1,000 MW unit size. BHEL is the largest manufacturer of boilers in the country, with a market share of over 60%. It has the capability to manufacture boilers for super thermal power plants, apart from utility boilers and industrial boilers. However, there is rising need for boilers which can multiple fuel particularly biomass /solid waste which are environment friendly. The industry also need turnkey support for the boiler equipment than a stand-alone supply.
There are several niche in boiler segment in India, which are waste heat recovery boilers, heat recovery steam generators, fired and industrial boilers. Some segments which drive growth for boilers are those who use steam in production process like paper, textile and others use it in power generation process.
