Bharat Forge Ltd has set up a 50:50 joint venture with Refu Electronik GmbH of Germany for development and manufacture of electric vehicle components. The joint venture will entail and investment of 11.35 million euros (about ₹ 89 crore).
The new venture will be developing, manufacturing and selling of on board controllers and components, mainly – drives, invertors, converters (including AC/DC). It will also develop and manufacture all kinds of auxiliary applications, related power electronics and battery management systems for all quality of e-mobility vehicles such as hybrid and electric 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, cars and commercial vehicles.
