TIL Ltd is planning to set up a second manufacturing plant in Kharagpur in West Bengal. The project which was initiated in 2008 were shelved due to recessionary trend. Now, the company is set to invest ₹ 1,800 million of which ₹ 500 million will be the cost of land acquisition.
The new plant will develop high tonnage mobile cranes which have huge demand world wide. The company is also looking at export market. It may be noted that, the company has sold its Caterpillar dealership in the year 2016.
