Panasonic Appliances India Co Ltd was set up in India in the year 1988 in the name of Indo Matsushita Appliances Company Limited. The Company was promoted as a joint venture by Mr.P.Obul Reddy a leading Industrialist in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in Technical and Financial Collaboration with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. Japan (now known as Panasonic Corporation).
In June 2018, the company is planning to increase its capacity by 30-40% over the next five years. The company had invested around Rs. 1000 million towards the manufacturing facilities.
