About the Company :
DANS Group was started by the current Chairman and Managing Director of the company, Mr. T Nagendra Rao, who has spent over 10 years of his 30 years of professional experience in the power sector. Starting with Prathibha Ventures Pvt. Ltd.(JV with Bhaskar Rao & Associates, Hyderabad, India) and DANS Energy Consulting Pvt. Ltd to provide cutting edge consultancy solutions to independent power producers, the group has gained significant experience and expertise in the power sector, most notably in the hydro-power sector.
Building on the sound platform of knowledge and skills gained, the group ventured into the power sector as developers in 2005. DANS Energy Pvt. Ltd. (an SPV) was started, and in late 2005, the Company signed an implementation agreement with the Sikkim State Government to implement the Jorethang Loop Hydroelectric project on a BOOT basis with an Installed capacity of 96 MW.
In 2006, Shiga Energy was formed to implement the Tashiding Hydroelectric power plant on BOOT basis with an installed capacity of 88 MW. In 2008, the DANS Group, in a joint venture with SMEC, signed an agreement for the implementation of Ting Ting Project on BOOT basis with an installed capacity of 90MW. All these companies are promoted by the DANS Group.
