Anchor Electricals, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Panasonic Corporation is planning to set up a new manufacturing facility in Sri City near Chennai in Andhra Pradesh. The company has signed an MoU with the state government of Andhra Pradesh in this regard. It plans to invest ₹ 6,000 million over a period of 5 years in phases. In the first phase it will invest ₹ 2,500 million. It may be noted that, the company already has a manufacturing facility near Sri City – Tada.
The company is likely to be allotted a 30 acre plot in Sri City SEZ. As of January 2019, the project is in planning stage.
